Project Info
HFA provided architecture, structural engineering, and MEP engineering services for the expansion and renovation of Volvo Cars of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The project added a new 9,350 square foot showroom addition, expanding the dealership to more than 22,000 square feet and aligning the facility with Volvo's latest Scandinavian inspired design standards. The expansion includes a new showroom featuring full height curtainwall systems with clear, frosted, and blue glazing that creates a distinctive illuminated appearance after dark. The new showroom allowed the existing showroom to be repurposed for Volvo Certified Pre Owned vehicles, creating dedicated sales environments for both new and pre owned inventory. The service department was also expanded to include an additional lift, alignment bay, and detailing station to support future growth and improve operational efficiency. Delivered through a design build partnership with New England Construction, the project required careful coordination to keep the dealership open and operational throughout construction. The completed facility provides a modern customer experience, increased service capacity, and a long term investment in the future of this family owned dealership.
